Maharashtra Retailer Meet & Greet
SOM Distilleries & Breweries Ltd” located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh is Asia’s biggest Brewery. The retailers of Maharashtra gained a first-hand insight and experience when they visited the plant under the special three months scheme organised by SOM Group.
With over 5 beer brands in its portfolio, SDBL has the largest Indian single location brewery plant with distillation, storage, and maturation facilities. Spread across 25 acres Rojrachak village, at a distance of 25km from Bhopal; SDBL has the capacity of manufacturing more 12.5 million cases of beer per annum and more than 1.7 million cases of IMFL per annum. It is one of the first breweries in India to introduce a new process concept of Unitank Technology, in which both fermentation and maturation of brewing happen in the same process tank.
This two days ‘Maharashtra Retailers Meet and Greet’ program was organized on 14th and 15th Oct, 2019 at Jehnuma Palace. Bhopal. In the event a total of 41 retailers from Ahmednagar, Beed and Maharashtra were present.
The first day visit to the SDBL factory was scheduled to give them a feel of the world-class manufacturing facility of the Beer and IMFL. It helped them learn about the best practices followed by SOM and the quality of its leading brands. On arrival at factory premises, the traditional welcome with garland and teeka was done. This visit was a first of a kind event coordinated by the team for their Retailers followed by sumptuous buffet dinner accompanied by a live band at the Jehnuma Palace, Bhopal. At the dinner party, lucky draw contest was conducted and bumper prizes were given out to the winners to generate huge excitement among trade partners. Chairman & Managing Director of the Company, Mr J K Arora congratulated the winners and expressed his gratitude to the partners for their support and efforts to propel SOM’s journey in Maharashtra.
He also talked about the beginning of the company which was in way back in 1987. Today, SOM group is being acknowledged as one of the leading liquor brands in major parts of the country because premiumization has become the “Mool Mantra” of SOM. He also disclosed the big plans for Maharashtra to double the turnover of the company by 2020. After that, the CEO of the Group Mr Deepak Arora focused on the future roadmaps for Maharashtra Market to rise across all horizons.
On the second day, all retailers enjoyed the mesmerizing Bhopal City tour with SOM team members. The city tour included visits to many interesting places like Upper Lake, Cruise Ride, Tajul masjid, Old Bhopal Van Vihar, Bhojpur temple etc.
All the esteemed guests enjoyed this luxury treatment and fun. After the factory visit, a small token of appreciation was presented. This get-together was the stepping stone to strengthen the relation between the retailers and SOM Group. Retailers were impressed and they highly appreciated the plant for its cleanliness, systemization and excellent quality of SOM Brands and expressed their willingness for wanting to start the IMFL distribution in Maharashtra as soon as possible.
